“What is that red building?”
“Who built that fort?”
“How long did take you to build it?”
“How big is ten Amos?”
Yitzy Kasowitz, owner of Jbrick.com and professional Lego designer, answered these and many more questions as he gave a special hands-on presentation of the Bais Hamikdosh that he built out of Lego. The Bochurim of the Postville Yeshivas kayitz were captivated as they listened and learnt all about the Bais Hamikdosh as per the Rebbe’s instructions to learn Hilchos Bais Habechirah in the three weeks.
Yitzy started his presentation at about 7:30 and was still talking at 9:30 and only stopped because of Ma’ariv, and he was still taking questions about his model past 10:30.
“It is so much easier when the crowd already knows the Mishna and Rambam” said Yitzy. “Usually I have to explain every detail but here the Bochurim really knew their stuff!” Yet he still had much to add as the Bochurim (and the staff) kept bombarding him with questions about the Har Habayis, Azara, Heichal and everything else they were able to see in the only accurate model in the world built out of real Lego pieces - to 1/600th scale of the real Bais Hamkidosh.
